Digital screens, giant screens, musical orchestra, mobile interpretation booths, and professional monitors, are all equipment acquired by the Conference Centre under the Contract Plan and will improve the performance and quality of service of this institution.
The Conference Centre of Yaounde permanently hosts national and international events. Events that require this structure to have the latest technical equipment to continue to satisfy its customers. Aware of this challenge, the General Management of the Conference Centre has made some adjustments.

In the main hall of the main building, the presence of a digital screen with a dimension of 15m wide and 3m high does not go unnoticed. This screen is used to broadcast messages and advertisements. The Totem screens inform the users about the schedules and the rooms of the various programmed events. This equipment, we learn from the IT Manager of the Conference Centre, Daniel Kéa, are part of the six giant screens that allow broadcasting of events and totem screens acquired under the contract plan.

Also, in the room of 1500 places, a screen of 36m2 is installed on a wall of 8m length and 4m height; and in the room of 400 places, is installed another giant screen of 16m2.
At the level of the main entrances (Tsinga Mosque & carrefour foire), a project to install two giant screens of 12m2 each is currently underway. It will be finalized with the arrival in Cameroon of a Moroccan team. As for the maintenance, the Conference Centre staff who will work on it has been put on a mission at the manufacturing plant in Spain. “The acquisition of this equipment is timely because the world is in full digital mutation,” explains Daniel Kea.
In addition to this equipment, the Conference Centre has acquired and installed the latest generation of mobile translation booths and sound equipment. These mobile translation booths solve the problem posed by the fixed booths that have been installed only in certain rooms since the construction of the building. The new booths can therefore be moved from one room to another for interpretation purposes.

In addition to these booths, the Conference Centre has acquired 65-inch professional monitors. These monitors will be used to equip the conference rooms. And for good management of this advanced equipment, the IT Office of the Conference Centre will proceed to the installation of mini-studios to manage all this equipment in the network.
On the high-tech side, the institution is now equipped with a wifi connection that allows staff to work in peace. Some visitors also benefit from this network from the tab reserved for visitors. Also, the bandwidth is sold as needed to some organizers of ceremonies.
On the artistic and cultural level, the Conference Centre has acquired a full musical orchestra, a performance stage, stage lighting and professional cameras. “Officials from the Ministry of Arts and Culture came to test the musical orchestra on site. They were surprised by the quality of the equipment delivered which is indeed a material of the last generation”, indicates Daniel Kéa.

All this technical equipment attests that the Conference Centre is well prepared to meet the requirements of its customers, whatever the size and character of the event. In a context where the State’s expenses are inversely proportional to the available resources, the Conference Centre is thus equipped with structural means to reduce its dependence on room rental revenues and State subsidies. The only remaining challenge is the maintenance of this equipment.
